Is Maybird Right For You?

For most youth cyclists, the NICA experience offers plenty of engagement, opportunity, and training. Maybird is intended for athletes who want to take the next step; to ride and race throughout the season, to increase their knowledge and skills, and to expand their access to the wider cycling community.

While we will always celebrate the growth of the sport, our resources are limited. In order to allow for a high standard of instruction and development, we want potential team members to meet a few basic criteria.

  1. You take cycling seriously.

Cycling doesn’t have to be your only pursuit, but Maybird is best-suited to riders who are willing to invest a significant amount of time and energy to improving their abilities as a cyclist. Maybird is compatible with other athletic and artistic pursuits, but please consider whether or not you’re going to have enough bandwidth to fully take advantage of our significant training and educational opportunities.

  2. You are an uncompromisingly respectful and responsible person

We don’t mess around on this one. When you wear the pink sleeves, you represent over 200 classy Maybird riders who are a pleasure to share trails with and compete against. If you’re a jerk, a poor steward of the outdoors, or are otherwise disrespectful, don’t bother applying.
